Sail the river...
You could see naked children running around, and people were washing their hair with shampoo in the stream! How natural, hehe... Then from a distance, I could see the moon shying away in the sky. Hello, but it's only 4pm!
Then, 5, then 6, we were still waiting for sue's friend. So, we decided to build the fire, and when the night came, we went for another night swim. It was just like in the movie. The moonlight was bright enough to show us the stream. It was fun. We ate, we drank and we laughed the whole night. Just missing the musics. Maybe next time we'll recruit a musician, hehe.
We are looking forward for another trip after I come back from my course in the city. Da is going to arrange it coz it's Sue's Bday. In fact, it's next week but I can't make it coz I will still be away. So, they decided to postpone till the following 2weeks after I come home.
Tonight, I have so much to pack. Leaving tomorrow for sometime. Clothes to iron and things to get ready. Gotta stop by at the head office for some documentation stuff and then proceed to the big city tomorrow. Whereas tonight, gotta attend another dinner invitation. Multitasking now.
Until then, some pics to show:
People claim this can coz laughing non-stop...izzit?

Work again
Sunday, October 5, 2008
Life sucks when.....
when you hoped for the best,
and you tumbled at the 11th hour.
Life sucks,
when you planned a life,
and your life ruined your plan.
Life sucks,
when you worked so hard to live,
and others merely need to care much bout living.
Life sucks,
when you run miles away from problems,
and problems are still a stone away.
Life sucks,
when you yearn to be loved,
and love is so far from reachable.
Life sucks,
when you are still breathing,
and you wished you were dead.
Let's go Raya..
Day 4, or is it day 5 Raya. Lost count. One week of excessive eating and late nights, finally succumbed to flu. Diagnosis: Sinusitis secondary to upper respiratory tract infection secondary to inadequate of rest. Took a tab of actifed and was later pulled to another function and later got so drowsy. Serious, this med is so strong, at least for me it is. I remembered taking it few months ago and I went blackout, hehe.
I was hesitating initially but my flu was so bad. I just needed some rest that evening. I felt part of my body was like paralysed and then collapsed on my couch. Then, another call came later. I felt so much better and then got ready for a night drink. It was raining and so chill.
Yesterday afternoon, we drove to another city for a home visit at a police officer residence. Nice guy, humble and family man. I don't know but I'd always thought that high ranked police officers look very stern. Then I realized, we are afterall human under the skin.
Opss...another sms just arrived.

Raya Day 1
Nice lil' kampung house
Another one just below the hill
Yesterday was quite a heavy day. Home visit started quite late, so there was so much rushing to do. I have already lost counts on how many houses we went to. Let's see..1,2,3,4...forgot already. The houses here are so nice. The atmosphere was so much like those days during the black and white tv time. The kampung is so untouched and you see oil lamps are lit around the house. Also not forgetting the view of paddy fields. The smell of the woods can be so surreal and natural.
Traditional food
Satay and many more
Then we were served the foods! There was a galore of food as if the supply would never deplete. I like the fact that most foods are originally made and also each family has their own specialty. Mini's house is specialized for her satay, Ribo's house is good at Jawa mee, Siti's mum served us the Semenanjung style of Asam laksa, Hasna cooked us Chicken Rice ala Pahang style, Sher's kampung prepared rendang with lemang, and the list goes on.
Look, the table is always long to accommodate the food
We lost our way while figuring our how to get back to the mainroad from the bushes
Later we also stopped by at Big Sis house for another round of supper. Here the specialty is pork, opps. They don't celebrate Raya, but ChrisLAM wor..haha. She's a Christian but we can always have food for gatherings anytime. Nice, nice. Sis house serves the most and strongest alcohol. They kept serving whisky of 45 or 47% of alcohol. Some drunk but I was still steady. Even had time to take a pic with this cute lil' puppy. Ehem...(what was I trying to do?) In the end, I could feel the food touching the neck already, wa..so exaggerating!!
Then, the big kids just refused to sleep. The night was still young it seemed. So, the tour continued up to the hill where we met with the others for another round of drink and dancing and singing. Sher's went up the stage with the mic, and we had to go dancing again and again. But people here really could sing well. Me, ehem, got so much training to do still, hehe.
Ok, that's the TIGER table
It's the second day of raya here and I have already got invitation for tomorrow. It's not only the food that I've enjoyed but the warmth and generosity that people show us that I feel so much missing from the life in big cities. It's like rediscovering basic human values that has long been buried under the tarred road in the city years ago. Looking forward to more food tonight!
