This morning Amy decided to drop by the town to have her hp fixed. She called me up and I went to fetch her at the bus station. Indeed, I had an appointment with Maz coz he needed a favour from me, so I stopped by the office before proceeding to the hp shop.
Amy waited at the hospital entrace which is nearby the office. She bumped into her other colleagues at the hospital and apparently, they were visiting an ailing officer Riz. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer last year and his prognosis wasn't that well.
So, she went along and saw the crying wife and the semiconscious officer. She left with teary eyes. When I saw her again, she told me about the whole thing. An hour later, she received the news that the officer had passed on. The rest of her teammates didn't make it to visit him on time but she did just right before he passed on. If only I weren't gonna stop by for Maz, she would've followed the rest to visit him later in the evening and missed seeing him while alive.
Sometimes things happened when it's meant to be. I am slowly learning to understand about destiny. I used to be pushy and tried every corner to make things work but eventually they don't and ended up with a huge disappoinment. I think I am gonna adopt a more relaxing approach. Life is afterall too much stressors.
Addie is discharging tomorrow. I am glad to hear that and let's see if she would take care of her health which I am a lil skeptical. It's time to learn to be healthy, addie!
Freddie, please get well soon. I am sure you are gonna be fine. Just rest abit when you are in the hospital later okay.
To all the gentlemen and ladies out there, life is full of stress. All the best in your undertakings!
Alright, off to bed now.

D'Cat City
Speaking from the cat city. Been here for the past one week for work.
Let's recap and do a lil review on this trip.
There are a few gd hotels around town as well as the outskirt. The pullman hotel, grand margharita, hilton and four points to name a few. Four points hotel is near the airport but it's a lil far away from the city where most of the main attractions are. Cheaper hotels are seen mushrooming the town as well, ie Lime hotel, Tune hotel, etc.
The thing about the city is its cleanliness which is commendable. The tarred roads are smooth and the colonial structures really define its city. Something like Singapore but you find it a lil more cosy here.
Museums are everywhere and I was told they are the finest in the south-east asia region, which I could totally agree. You find few museums located at the same area which is so convenient for the visitors and they are well-maintained.
On the other hand, the transport system is not efficient. Most of the people here own a car because obviously the public transport almost null in existence. It's very seldom to see a public bus and most of the time they are seen only within the town and only 1 type of bus which is available, number 11. I am not sure of other numbers coz that's what I have been seeing in this visit. Most of the time, taxi is used to move from a spot to another where the fare is so variable. One taxi driver told me that the meters used are faulty and the cabbie can change the price as they like. The taxis are usually for the visitors or tourists as they don't have any choices. A simple 15 mins ride can cost more than 20bucks.
River cruises are seen along the well known S'wak river. It's nicely done and very cosy. Though there are many complaints on the political system here, but I've to say that tourism is kinda well done here. Across the river, there is a small village. Foods and souveniers can be found here. Remember to try out S'wak laksa, Kolo mee, Nasi ayam penget, etc.
The town is very compact. You find almost everything in the town. Somehow cosmopolitan kinda feel. Temples can be found here and there. The influence of the Chinese cannot be discounted. They have a museum dedicated to the Chinese settlers here. Wherever I go, I can never miss this museum. It speaks of how much the Chinese had gone through to earn an honest living. They are the unsung heroes who brought so much development to these places without any complaints. And yet, they are being robbed off daylight of their sweat and hard work just because of the lazy and greedy authorities who think they deserve every part of other people's success.
The sun sets around 7pm here. I've not much time visiting because it was mainly work but I took sometime to move around to feel the vibe of the town. Afterall, I never know when will be the next visit. Ah...let's talk about the cinemas. Been to 2 cinemas and they are very cramped up, and the ticket costs 9bucks. Hmmm.... not many went for movies here even it's a weekend, hehe. Maybe the srping mall has a better cinema there.
Alright, I better sign out now. Going for a quick town walk and leaving to the airport this evening. And to Addie, who was admitted to the hospital lately for some eye problems, do heal well. Take care my friend.

The amazing race
The state-held international marathon went well last Sunday and it was really fun to have met so many people from all over the world during the event. There were lots of familiar faces and activities going on the field. There were two ladies clad in their kimono attire (apparently one is a real Japanese student) running along the race and gosh, she was fast,haha...
The event started at 6am but Maz gave me a morning call at 4am!! I was working late the night before and only slept at 1am. 3 hours of sleep really was challenging for me mentally and physically. I did not expect the race was that far distance, given 10km, and it felt like soooo far.
I managed to clock way much below the set time. So yea, I earned a medal. And to make sure it's real, I bit it with my own teeth, hahaha..that was a joke.
Looking forward to another race.
