Life is not a bed of roses

The sky finally broke its water. No, it's not a labour process. I am just venting on the hot and dry weather since my arrival. Whereas you can expect of so much rain at other parts of the country.

Mum once told me, we have five fingers and they are all different. Looking at it, I am very much agreeing to it. Life cannot be the same for all of us. I like this quote: you laugh at me because I am different, but I laugh back at you because you are all the same.

Ok, nevermind. Being home sometimes makes me feel like I am a lil bit too far away. I feel so foreign at times. The roads, the places and the people. I am not sure what people are thinking anymore. Things happen again and again. I know I should be enjoying the holiday as YL is getting married this weekend, but I have yet to develop any mood to even see myself live for the next few days. No, I am not having any suicidal thoughts. I just dun find anything fascinates me here anymore.

Perhaps I shall just be quiet and observe from an angle, so not to disturb the fengshui, or even yang and yin from flowing. I just want my presence here for this entire week to be uneventful. When I see some dramas lately on the tv, I find myself moved so easily. No, I don't wanna be the character in the movies. I just want to be myself, and being myself by all means, to do whatever I want.

Life is not a bed of roses.

What can I say about the traffic?

Phew..the ordeal is over, or at least the stress is.
Anyways, back in hometown earlier than expected because of that "ordeal" and supposedly to attend a friend's wedding at the end of the year. Can't afford to fly back twice within 2 weeks time coz the flights are horrendously expensive. So, my leave is unexpectedly extended.
The first day already evidently shows that this city will never ever be outta vehicles on the road. While people were telling me that during the school holiday season, the traffic was much better. But I beg to differ coz if this is better, I couldn't imagine what's worse.
I was late for the event as I was stuck in the traffic for more than an hour. Besides, the genius never-ending change of road structures complement with long-riding, no turning back, multiple split segmented highway in the heart of the city proves to be fatal for the weak hearted if you ever need to attend an urgent meeting which might probably change your entire life. If so, avoid the road if you ever get the possibility to travel by air, sea or whatever means, but keep away from the road!!
I am so unimpressed with the road structures and now I really find it so dangerous driving in town especially when you are away for 3 months. Basically the town transformed overnight and never seem to stay in one picture. There are new high rise buildings keep coming up and the roads are butchered beyond recognition. Literally, when a road splits, the left lane will usually entirely bring you to the right side of the earth while the right is otherwise. I was trapped by
the innocent look of the road and ended up to the wrong way when I helplessly look down on the road which I wanted to go but now the overhead was bringing me to the opposite direction.
I had to look for the nearest place to park the car and grab a cab!! Because the road is so congested, people get so impatient and they start to squeeze in from the illegal lane. On top of that, the confusing and sudden-missing signboard can be really irritating.
Ok, I better not keep going on or else this entry will become a presidential speech. Time for tv drama now. See you peeps!!

Back to writing

Well guys, I've just got back from the rough community camp.
What happened to be a 2 days 1 night stay ended up being a 3 days and 2 nights. The sea was choppy and there was lotsa rains and winds. It was alright in the morning till mid day though. We were basically stranded on the island coz the earlier boat which fetched us to the ship got it rough in the sea and one lady was almost thrown out into the sea.
The second boat was employed but were not able to make any closer to the big ship, so the plan was to stay another night. With limited clothes in our bag, we made good use of them, if you know what I mean.
The community camp was kinda tiring but it was an adventure. Travelling by ship took us 5hrs and then transferred to the island via boat. Anyways, mission accomplished. Met lotsa volunteers, including aunt leong who used to be a doctor in hk but now volunteering at the palliative care unit. It's always nice being in community work, meeting people from all walks of life. I am glad to have found sometime this time around coz since I moved to this new job, I've not much time doing volunteering job.
I also met SN Joe a few days ago. He is currently the president of KASIH, another NGO. We struck the right cord on the RVD issues and I hope this NGO is not another sleeping one.
Ok, what's new? Work, work and work. I wanna do more sports but I get so tired easily nowadays. I better get back to my books. Lotsa catching up to do!!!
Until then, it's a busy and expensive month, trust me!
