Honesty is the best policy

Sunny day

I have been talking on the weather nowadays that I thought if it would be a lil weird if I didn't touch on it. Well, the morning started somewhat like gonna rain coz cloudy all the time. It was so cloudy that I was tip-toeing to the bathroom as it was really cold. But I was still skeptical. I just knew it. True enough, the afternoon was sooo extremely hot.

I wanna talk something on honesty. In fact I've met a few honest people today, and I was really impressed. I was having lunch at this aunty's restaurant. It was a small family run business. The couple was very friendly to me. So I asked for 3 dishes and aunty insisted that that wouldn't be enough for me and added another dish. Such a caring lady, and she didn't charge more, only less. That wasn't the first time.

And mind you, that lunch really fed me well coz I still could feel the food in the stomach till the evening. Then I went to buy some poison for that lil fellow, R. The pest shop owner came out to welcome me and we had a short conversation as I told him the problems with R. Then I paid him 5 bucks as I knew the price when I bought from his staff previously. But he said, wait, I need to refund you 50cents. Wow...I got a 50cents discount! Not much but at least he was honest.

Then I went to the wet market in the evening. I was at a fish stall. This lady was really nice and polite. Her boss was away. She wasn't upset I left after surveying the price. I went to another stall and this lady was charging more expensive but was upset after I told her it was cheaper the other corner. These ppl always think that we, the young ppl are so naive at the market. Come on. One bad apple, not worth of mentioning. The disappointment came when she has the same skin colour. But why want to con ur own race? Gee... speaking of ppl's mentality. Instead I went back to the earlier stall and bought some fish for a better price with a better personality. I am glad that I go for rational rather than skin colour.

Then I proceeded to the veges stall. I was searching for lady fingers but couldn't find the fresh ones. In the end I simply grabbed one packet and asked for the price. That lady said 1 bucks, and quickly I handed her the money. But she was hesitating, haha... She told me better not to buy. The very first time I saw someone so hesitated selling their veges! She said it wasn't fresh at all. The new stock had not arrived yet and those were old. What an honest comment! She was embarassed but smiling while saying that and I am giving two thumbs up for her honesty.

So I went home a lil empty handed. It's okay. I still have my oreos with me. Gonna have choco session tonight, haha. Anyways, it sounds more like people are being just nice. But again, honest is nice, but nice is not always honest. That's the lil adveture at the wet market for today. I wanna write more inspirational encounters here but I guess the current job is a lil less inspirational unlike previous job. Having said that, everyday is a learning day!
