Well guys, I've just got back from the rough community camp.
What happened to be a 2 days 1 night stay ended up being a 3 days and 2 nights. The sea was choppy and there was lotsa rains and winds. It was alright in the morning till mid day though. We were basically stranded on the island coz the earlier boat which fetched us to the ship got it rough in the sea and one lady was almost thrown out into the sea.
The second boat was employed but were not able to make any closer to the big ship, so the plan was to stay another night. With limited clothes in our bag, we made good use of them, if you know what I mean.
The community camp was kinda tiring but it was an adventure. Travelling by ship took us 5hrs and then transferred to the island via boat. Anyways, mission accomplished. Met lotsa volunteers, including aunt leong who used to be a doctor in hk but now volunteering at the palliative care unit. It's always nice being in community work, meeting people from all walks of life. I am glad to have found sometime this time around coz since I moved to this new job, I've not much time doing volunteering job.
I also met SN Joe a few days ago. He is currently the president of KASIH, another NGO. We struck the right cord on the RVD issues and I hope this NGO is not another sleeping one.
Ok, what's new? Work, work and work. I wanna do more sports but I get so tired easily nowadays. I better get back to my books. Lotsa catching up to do!!!
Until then, it's a busy and expensive month, trust me!
