NARCOlepsy

No, it wasn't a love bite. No, it wasn't a pinched mark(not even by those errie kinda stuff....). Just a simple bruise over the forearm. Why did I post it here? Got it 5 days ago from a volleyball session and still not improving! Argghh...not really tender. But that's so obvious o....

Ok, so much on the bruise. Let's move on to something more educational.

It was a tough day. I was so busy at work that the moment I got home, quickly I went for a shower and headed to bed. Straight away I dozed off. Slowly I slipped into a dream. Very odd dream. There was a commotion. There was a girl standing by the window on a tall building. She was threatening to jump off the building while she was weeping. Suddenly, another girl came from nowhere went into the picture and directly climbed on the window and told everyone "good bye". She then jumped off the building without any delay. It's like less than 2 seconds. No time for everyone to think, nor put on a reaction. The shock just sent the adrenaline up to the spine, and I woke up. I was there looking at the darkness in the room. A dream! What a relief. I tried to move the limbs, but I couldn't! As if the soul was trapped in a motionless body. What happened?? It was a terrified feeling. The heart was pounding fast. It lasted for 2 whole minutes. Suddenly, my eyes just opened. Gosh, was it a dream after a dream? I tried to move the limbs this time and I could.

The next day I woke up early as usual. I could barely recall the event coz I was busy since the start of the day. But I had been feeling tired. Sleepy all the time. If not because of the work itself, I could've slept right on the couch in the office. But no, I was dealing with human. During lunch time, I went home. Again, tired. Took a nap...yes ..a whole 1 hour nap. Still tired after waking up. This is not something new for me. It's been there since young. I recall one event when I fell asleep in the middle of the night, suddenly hearing someone banged on the door which was facing my back. My bro was lying just next to me, in fact he was facing me. The loud bang was terrifying and I wasn't dare to look back coz what's on earth trying to bang the door in the middle of the night! Or maybe it's a thieve or robber? It took me 2 minutes to stay in the same infantile position and then, I heard nothing. Quiet and calm. I was trying to move and look back but I couldn't move! Gosh! What happened. I could only open my eyes. Then slowly after 5 minutes, my limbs started moving and I checked on the room, there wasn't any sign of entry and everything was in order.

Narcolepsy. This word I've known for quite sometime but I'd never really looked into it. Is it just as simple as being sleepy all the time? In fact there is more to it. I've just read more in depth about narcolepsy, a chronic sleep disorder characterized by cataplexy(muscle weakness), sleep paralysis(inability to talk or move while waking), hypnagogic hallucinations(vivid frightening dream-like experiences while sleeping, etc) and automatic behaviour. Very jargons right? Go and check out the web for further understanding coz it's so difficult to explain in such a short entry.

My eyes are complaining now. It seems like having draught here. Warm and dry for the past few days. Better go bed now. Nite nite
